ABOUT FRANCES EVANS

I am a children’s editor and writer with over twelve years’ experience of working in illustrated publishing. I love creating books that inspire young readers and foster their curiosity about the world. I write, edit, commission and project manage titles across the Buster Books list, specialising in illustrated non-fiction. I was the editor of Am I Made of Stardust, written by Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, which won the Royal Society’s Young People’s Book Award in 2024. I also enjoy working as a freelance author in my spare time and I specialise in writing kids\' non-fiction books (especially books about animals!) – most recently Atlas of Dogs, Atlas of Cats, and Atlas of Horses and Ponies for Lonely Planet Kids.
