Hi, my name is Franny Daughters. I’m a current Junior at UC Berkeley, and I am a zealous learner, leader, and teammate. My studies at Berkeley have provided me with a uniquely well-rounded academic framework and special communities that I’m grateful to be part of.Majoring in both Sociology and Environmental Economics & Policy has created a path for me to follow my passion for social justice and equity work. Simultaneously, I’ve learned economic principles that are crucial for understanding markets, finance, and how to efficiently use the limited resources we have. Through my classes, learning how to utilize data to augment sustainability has provided me with skills and insights necessary to generate a lasting impact.Having performed undergraduate research for the last 2 years alongside graduate students and professors, I have a deep understanding of data and research processes, as well as how crucial research is to create meaningful change. In the world of DEI and sustainability alike, my deep commitment to utilizing knowledge and personal experience as a means to launch change is what allows me to fight for a more equitable future. My diverse leadership and work experience places me in a unique position: I’ve served 3 meals a day at the Bohemian Grove in the summer, spent 30 hours a week at the library in Berkeley, and taught several hundred yoga sculpt classes at CorePower. At the intersection of my many interests is my character-passionate, inclusive, well-rounded, and hungry for more knowledge and experience.
