ABOUT FRAN MANLEY

I’m Fran Manley, Associate Director based at the York Office of SJP Law.The journey here? It’s crossed international borders and jurisdictions! Qualifying in Hull as a giddy young lawyer looking for adventure, I obtained dual admission in the Supreme Court of Victoria. I have represented clients in the UK and Australia providing me with a broad outlook on legal practice.Back on UK shores I am an Associate Director at SJPLaw, dealing with complex clinical negligence and personal injury cases. I have practised in this area for over 17 years. I have a special interest and expertise in supporting children, young people and families affected by acquired brain injury. I help many parents who have suffered birth trauma and I am passionate about working collaboratively with local organisations to build a network of support around the client.I provide legal assistance to many families supporting a child with a life changing disability. I help our clients rebuild their lives and access the future care and treatment they need. I take an active interest in promoting positive mental health in the workplace and ensuring our culture is one of support, growth and continued learning. Outside of the technical work I have an active role on the Business Development Team forming key relationships across multiple sectors and working to promote collaboration, cooperation and creativity on health pathways. A lawyer yet a true creative - outside of work you’ll find me behind a camera capturing the outside world and our family life, a lover of landscape I enjoy running, walking, crafting, coffee and listening to an eclectic mix of podcasts! Recent MattersRepresenting a child with cerebral palsy access an award in excess of £15.5 million.Successful case for a child with cerebral palsy capitalised at £14 four claimants involved in a catastrophic motor vehicle accident with awards in excess of £2 million. of over for a client who suffered functional neurological disorder following a road traffic accident.
