Recently an independent consultant leading US Government engagement for Gavi / COVAX global vaccination efforts; supporting Biden-Harris transition team on international affairs budget and policy; and advising on development finance and climate change issues. Previously served ten years in the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), as a branch chief for International Economic Affairs focused on policy and budget issues related to U.S. foreign assistance programs, the Department of State, USAID, and other international affairs agencies. Also served as program examiner for Department of Energy innovative technology financing programs. Prior to OMB, developed and financed early stage business ventures in the Gulf region as a Senior Partner with a boutique Middle East private equity firm based in Bahrain. Helped launch several portfolio companies in the financial services, telecommunications, and industrial sectors, and each broke new ground regionally. Earlier experiences included positions as an entrepreneur, strategy consultant with a top-tier advisory firm supporting Fortune 100 companies, and a chemical engineer serving as a technical consultant and product developer for an international chemical company.
