About Foster Sims

I’m a junior at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a double major in Energy Management and Accounting. My journey into the world of energy management began at my university\'s career fair during my sophomore year, where I had the opportunity to meet alumni working in the industry. Their passion and insights sparked my interest, and a visit to the Weiss Energy Hall at the Museum of Natural Science in Houston further fueled my fascination with the field. My involvement with the Energy Management Student Association (EMSA) has provided me with valuable learning opportunities and a deeper understanding of the industry\'s challenges and opportunities. Complementing my energy management studies, I chose to also major in accounting because it provides a solid foundation in financial principles and practices. My experience as an Accounting Intern at McFarlin Stanford allowed me to apply my accounting skills in a real-world setting, preparing and editing financial statements for multimillion-dollar companies. Having played on sports teams all my life, I know how to juggle commitments and thrive where there are opportunities to learn, lead, and be part of a team. Being part of improving my community is also important to me. I’m a former member of the Junior Board for Meals on Wheels and have been a meal delivery volunteer the past 8 years.
