   I edit and proof newsers and advances for the copy desk, work with the news desk and producing editors on adjustments in stories and make sure headlines, linktext, captions and other details are accurate- During shifts as the lead editor, I oversee the organization of the Q and assign roles to fulfill particular needs while using Chartbeat analytics to make informed decisions, prioritize workflow and delegate slot reads. I update story budgets, coordinate requests from producing editors and facilitate conversations to find the best solutions for flagged content or issues with copy- Serve as the P1 editor for the copy desk twice weekly to coordinate outgoing breaking news and alerts with the Audience Engagement team for accuracy and best SEO practices. I make sure video headlines and other alerts match content, aren’t offensive and are grammatically correct- I help train new hires on ESPN style and how to best apply SEO practices in headlines and ledes- Received numerous editor of the month awards and frequent recognition for executing outstanding editorial judgment by correcting significant inaccuracies, finding solutions to flagged content and rewriting copy that could be insulting, offensive, or damaging to the ESPN brand.
