ABOUT EMILY CECIL

I love helping clients increase their quality of life using nutrition, meeting them where they are and moving forward from there. Starting with a thorough nutrition assessment, inquiry of their lifestyle preferences, nutrient intake assessment, mental state of readiness, and current goals. With this information I am able to make a nutrition diagnosis in collaboration with the patient and their medical team. I graduated from Andrews University May of 2015. Then I completed my DI at Lakeland Health in 2016. I then passed my Registered Dietitian exam in June 2017. Now I work for Pioneer Specialty and Garden City Hospitals and Diamond Home Health in Southeast MI. I am seeking a 30+ hr position with affordable benefits. I am motivated to develop therapeutic, individualized nutrition prescriptions for my patients, to provide a personalized nutrition approach that more effectively manages and/or prevents disease. My responsibilities include completing Nutrition Assessments, Nutrition Care Planning and evaluating high risk residents including those receiving Enteral Nutrition, Total Parenteral Nutrition, Dialysis and those with significant weight changes. My experience with EMR’s is broad: Epic, PointClickCare, Cerner Soarian, Michigan State MDHHS and WIC software, along with paper charting. I’m comfortable with MDS, CMS and CAA’s. I work with patients and their caregivers to educate them about regulating their nutrient intakes, adding fortification or enrichment when needed, for maximized health outcomes and palliative care. Hobbies: I am interested in USDA Organic initiatives, sustainable crop practices that enhance cropland use and reduce human exposure to chemical adjuvants, and home gardening. Mission Statement: I would like to help patients achieve healthy nutrient intakes so they can reap quality outcomes through education and personalized nutrition intervention plans.
