Adjunct Instructor, Direct and Cross Examination of Expert Witnesses in Criminal Cases. Teach advanced litigation course to prepare students to effectively utilize expert witnesses in criminal cases. Course explores the law and tactics of expert witnesses as well techniques of examining expert witnesses; Teach a Trial techniques course focusing on basic trial skills, including opening statements and closing arguments, introduction of evidence, objections, oral arguments relating to the admissibility of evidence and direct and cross examination; and Coach Trial Team to compete in local regional, and national competitions.Instruct students in trial advocacy techniques including, but not limited to, writing and performing opening statements, direct examinations, cross examinations, and closing arguments, and making and responding to objections.Teach students the Federal Rules of Evidence and legal principles and procedures.Work with students to develop case themes, theories, and strategies.Attend and lead mock trial practices, and Accompany students to mock trial competitions.
