ABOUT FOLUKE ISHOLA
A Research and Development Director, passionate about sustainability issues. Proferring solutions to questions within the areas of deep tech, resource recovery, waste to biofuels, and material science. I have more than 15 years experience in both academic and industrial research. Been involved in 15 collaborative research and development work which promotes clean environment and sustainability. I developed a new process for production of biofuel ethanol during my PhD, a process that circumvents the shortcomings of the conventional processes and gives a higher ethanol yield. The process is still being applied in the University. My research output has been published in high ranking academic journals and has been presented in international conferences. Currently, the Director of Research and Development at Svenska Aerogel where we are a specialist in additive manufacturing using deep technologies. Previously, I was a Team Lead, Sustainability Ambassador and Senior Research and Development Engineer at Scanacon, a world leading company in metal and recycling and environmental questions. Earlier on, I worked as an Environmental Engineer and Projects leader with Göteborg Energi, where I worked with chemicals, environmental monitoring, safety issues and also investigated the implications of the production and use of Biochar for the company. I also facilitate international research collaboration between Sweden and Nigeria, under my free time. I defended my PhD thesis with 3 years and seven months, and became the first to have that record in the University of Borås, Sweden. Consequently, I got a two page article written about me in Borås Tidning. My research resulted in valourization of waste and giving new life to used materials. I graduated with distinction from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria during my Masters. Critical and analytical thinking brings out the solutions perspective in me.A dedicated team worker with an open disposition, it is easy for me to learn new things and make new contacts because I am continuously evolving.
