ABOUT FLEUR-MICHELLE COIFFAIT

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who was identified as neurodivergent in adulthood and mother to a neurodivergent child. I am passionate about empowering people to better understand themselves and others, particularly in the area of neurodivergence. I am also committed to increasing people\'s understanding of neurodivergence and working towards building organisations, cultures and a society that is neuroaffirming and inclusive. I am a Health and Care Professions’ Council (HCPC) Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical) and Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and the Psychological Society of Ireland. I have worked across the lifespan with children, young people and adults in a range of settings. This includes specialist inpatient, low secure, educational, voluntary sector, private healthcare, residential care, corporate, and elite sport contexts. I have 18 years of experience assessing and supporting individuals in relation to autism and ADHD and have developed and led Neurodevelopmental services in the NHS and private sector. I have also worked independently offering autism, ADHD and intellectual disability assessments, support, clinical supervision and consultancy for over a decade.I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists. I am an associate lecturer and placement and research supervisor for doctoral courses at local universities, including clinical psychology training programmes. I draw on a number of approaches and models, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT), Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and systemic and narrative approaches.I believe in the importance of the relational context and systemic thinking that takes into account each individual’s lived experiences, relationships and broader context when thinking about their strengths, patterns and challenges. It is also hugely important to me to consider the language we use and the stories we tell ourselves and others as language has huge power.I offer consultancy, advice and clinical supervision within my areas of expertise and interest.
