I have volunteered to support the Surrey Search and Rescue team find vulnerable missing people in Surrey, and bordering counties. SurSAR is a charity entirely staffed and supported by volunteers. Training and selection involved a rigorous process over 3 months, followed by 15 hours of team time to begin applying the skills and get to know the team. I am hoping to continue my training with them to specialise as a Medic within the team acting as in a First Responder capacity in remote locations.
