   ReadytheChief! Salvage Chief, LLC, is an Asset Holding Company which owns and operates the well known M/V Salvage Chief. Built on 23 December of 1944 as LSM 380, design by Gibbs & Cox and built by the Brown Ship Building Company in Houston, Texas, the US Navy Vessel saw action in World War 2 and then was purchased by Fred Devine of Portland, Oregon in 1948, where it remained as a storied salvage and commercial diving vessel until purchase by the Salvage Chief, LLC in 2015. From rescuing and salvaging hundreds of ships near the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean as well as its major salvage work on the Exxon Valdez in Alaska, to numerous submarine cable and Department of Defense work, the Salvage Chief is now destined for restoration for use as a training vessel and Emergency Operations Center by the \"Salvage Chief (LSM380) Foundation\". Its Broad New Mission is to Ready the Chief for Emergency Disasters on the Columbia River. More information on the \"Salvage Chief\" can be found on Google.
