ABOUT FLORIAN STORK

Dr. Florian Stork LL.M. oec, MLP-HSG, is Group General Counsel / Chief Compliance Officer at TÜV SÜD Group (Munich, Germany). Florian manages and leads the global Legal & Compliance department of TÜV SÜD. As GC and CCO, Florian reports into the CEO and is a member of several leadership circles. He provides together with his team of approx. 75 colleagues legal and compliance advice to, inter alia, top and senior management and drives legal productivity, innovation and risk management. TÜV SÜD has approx. employees and approx. 3.4 bn EUR sales (2024 figures). Before joining TÜV SÜD, Florian worked at the Linde Group as Head of Legal REC and REW (2015 to 2020). In these positions, Florian was responsible for Central and then Western Europe (Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the local Praxair Surface Technology business; approx. employees; approx. 3.2 bn EUR sales) with his team. Previously, Florian designed and implemented as Group Legal Counsel - Compliance EMEA (2011 to 2015), the Linde group’s global compliance management system, including various risk management topics. He provided legal advice to local and international stakeholders in all aspects of competition/antitrust, corruption prevention, data privacy, international trade law and EU law and led the global Practice Group Competition Law. Prior to his inhouse career, Florian was a member of the international law firm Linklaters LLP’s Competition/Antitrust practice group as a Rechtsanwalt / Associate (Duesseldorf, Germany) and delivered legal advice in competition law, general compliance, EU law and international trade law (2007 to 2011). From 2010 to 2016, Florian taught commercial & corporate law at the Fresenius University, Munich, and is - since 2015 - Tutor/Mentor for Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation scholars in Munich. Florian is used to working and living abroad and in different cultures. During his legal traineeship he worked both at the EU Commission (Brussels, Belgium) and at Delphi Automotive (Paris, France). In high school, he spent a year in Las Vegas, USA. His professional interests include operational risk management, legal innovation / legal tech, strategic legal management and leadership. Florian’s personal motto is “Plus Ultra”, literally meaning “Farther beyond” and standing for his aspiration to take risk, surpass oneself, transcend barriers, show courage and innovative strength.
