Located just steps away from the White House, The Hay-Adams is one of Washington’s most iconic five-star hotels, renowned for its timeless elegance, exceptional service, and prestigious clientele- Reporting to the Director of Banquets- Leading a team of 9 permanent servers and 5 housemen, with additional on-call staff depending on business levels and event needs- Overseeing daily banquet operations, including setup, service execution, and post-event breakdown across 8 multifunctional event spaces (totaling 6,350 sq. ft.)- Managing event scheduling, staffing, payroll, and billing - Collaborating closely with the Catering & Sales department to anticipate needs, plan logistics, and ensure flawless event execution- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, event organizers, and wedding planners, serving as the main point of contact during and after events- Acting as a liaison between the kitchen and service teams, ensuring seamless coordination and consistent service standards- Supervising service quality, buffet presentation, and plated service during breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, dinners, weddings, and corporate events- Training, coaching, and evaluating banquet staff to uphold the hotel’s luxury standards- Involved in the overall F&B management, including operational strategy, employee engagement, and service excellence initiatives, overviewing revenues and costs
