ABOUT FLORENCE FLORENCE MERMET CHABERT DHIERES
I\'m Florence Chabert d\'Hières, a citizen of the world with a passion for building bridges between cultures. My atypical background, having lived on 5 continents and experienced diverse cultures, has given me a deep understanding of the challenges of expatriation, Global mindset and intercultural dynamics.Adopted from Sri Lanka by a Franco-Italian family, my personal history has given me a deeper understanding of what it means to grow up between several cultures. After a career in international marketing and communications, I chose to reinvent myself by becoming a Cross - Cultural coach and trainer, and a Brain Gym practitioner, to help expatriates integrate, adapt and evolve harmoniously in their host country or “back” in their country of origin.Today, I\'m the founder of Expat Village, a company dedicated to supporting expatriates of all ages, from children to top managers, in their integration process, whether in the company or in their daily lives. My Expat Village collaborative project, launched in 2019 in the UK, aims to offer personalised support to expat communities worldwide, to help overcome the challenges of expatriation and foster greater cross-cultural understanding.In 2018, I wrote the book I\'m a Citizen of the World (available in French and English), in which I share my thoughts on the lives of expatriate families and the concept of the cross-cultural kids - that hybrid identity experienced by children growing up in several countries.Alongside my work as an intercultural trainer, I have designed several innovative programs to help young people, families and expatriates better adapt and navigate their international journeys by developing their global mindset. I have co-founded Take Me Abroad, an innovative program for young people aged 14 to 25 who want to take a gap year abroad. I have also developed a number of conferences, such as “Rise & Shine” ( Hybrid game to build your identity): an interactive program enabling everyone on the move to understand and forge their identity in a multicultural context, while stimulating their curiosity and open-mindedness.
