ABOUT FLORENCE MAHER

International affairs professional with experience building relationships and partnerships to achieve data-driven policy goals. I help technical experts build multistakeholder coalitions and communicate with each other and the world. I currently work as a social scientist at the OECD guiding intergovernmental cooperation to produce research and policy recommendations on the human aspects of nuclear technology, including gender, leadership, and diversity. Formerly as a U.S. diplomat (20••••18), I worked on: integrating research-backed social science methodology on conflict into U.S. foreign policy; international cooperation on cybersecurity policy, anti-terrorist financing, sanctions, export controls, and nuclear nonproliferation; and consular affairs. I received a master\'s degree in public policy and social research, with a specialty in peace studies, as a Rotary Peace Fellow at the International Christian University (ICU) in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, I hold bachelor\'s degrees in economics and political science from Howard University in Washington, DC. Views are my own and may not represent those of the OECD.
