ABOUT FLEUR BOTHWICK
Diversity is about everybody. It’s not just about race, gender, ethnicity, or anything else, it’s about the fact that every single person is different. I’m a firm believer that diverse teams are the key to creating a dynamic, innovative and competitive business. Challenged/frustrated by the slow pace of change in Diversity & Inclusion, I have focused my career on developing straightforward, practical strategies for improving workplace diversity. All too often, organisations are heavily reliant on a collection of initiatives such as networks and minority leadership programmes, but those programmes must be underpinned by change management principles to succeed in the long term.My new book Inclusive Leadership (October 2016), co-authored with Charlotte Sweeney of Charlotte Sweeney Associates, introduces a framework that any sized organisation can use, to help them think about where they are on their D&I journey and where they want to be.At EY, I lead the D&I strategy for the EMEIA Region which is made up of Europe, Middle East, India and Africa with ninety nine countries and people. My role entails developing, driving and embedding an integrated diversity strategy across this large multi-disciplined matrix organization. With 13 years experience in the D&I space, I am well connected within diversity and business leader networks in EMEIA.I have a Masters in HR Strategic Management but my love for this work comes from experience as an intrapreneur within EY, with EY clients, with professionals in external networks and through roles on Advisory Boards. I was honoured to received an OBE in the Queen’s 2013 New Year’s Honours List in recognition of my contribution to Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.Charlotte and I are planning events around the world to discuss our new book and connect D&I stakeholders. Please do get in touch if you are interested in attending. Diversityandinclusiveleadership.com
