ABOUT FIONA MACAULAY

A CIO and Digital Transformation leader partnering with Business leadership teams at BP, Reed Elsevier, Vodafone, Thames Water and Mars. I have had the privilege of leading Digital Transformations in all these organisations applying new technologies, user centric design and leveraging diverse global teams to drive business efficiencies and improve Customer experiences. I have worked internationally and lived in the US and Asia, where I learnt the power of diverse teams and how inclusion can deliver amazing results for the Business and amazing experiences for individuals. This is what has fuelled my passion for Inclusion & Diversity. I sponsor the I&D agenda in Mars IT in the UK and led the rollout of our unconscious bias training with a fantastic team of volunteers. A particular focus for me is championing women in STEM. It is important to me I give back to my industry and share my 30 years experience, my challenges, and my continued passion for Digital Technologies. I enjoy being a mentor for women in Tech through the British Computer Society, Reed’s Women in Tech Mentoring Programme and Mars’s very own Women of DigitalMars. I am a Fellow of BCS and a BCS Women Committee member (https://bcswomen.bcs.org ) where we provide networking opportunities for women in all stages of their careers. It was important to me to have role models and see others succeed, so to support others on their journeys I contribute to panels and events, such as Surrey University Women in Tech Career talks at 6th form colleges Judging for Computing’s Women in Tech Excellence Awards BCSWomen Lovelace Colloquium for Women Students in Computing.
