The Advanced Materials Research Laboratory (AMRL) provides state of the art facilities across the university and to external universities and companies. It provides a hub for multidisciplinary research projects ranging from nano-scale through to component testing. As well as familiar discipline based materials research into metallics, ceramics, polymers, composites, biomaterials and geomaterials, the AMRL supports new research partnerships in a range of multidisciplinary applications such as nano and micro electromechanical systems (NEMS & MEMS), sensor technology, photonics and printed electronics.
