WORK HISTORY
Senior Lecturer @University of Aberdeen
Aberdeen, GB
The overall goal of my research is to examine the role of cyclic adenosine 3\',5\'-monophosphate (cAMP) signalling in disease, to uncover novel drug targets. I have background in pharmacology, drug screening and target validation. My lab offers extensive research experience in studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease using cell lines, patient samples, and animal models of disease. Current research, with strong links with industry, focus on an orphan G protein-coupled receptor, GPR75, which we believe is a novel target and circulating biomarker for women\'s health, metabolic disease, pulmonary hypertension, age-related macular degeneration, and cancer. My lab is also driving research to re-purpose phosphodiesterase 1 inhibitors for pulmonary hypertension.
