ABOUT FIONA HUNTER
Computational scientist with extensive project management experience in data science and chemoinformatics over 20 years. Currently I manage the process to extract, curate and integrate high-quality drug data for ChEMBL, a world-leading, freely-accessible bioactivity database for drug discovery. Previously, I carried out data analysis of drug discovery and toxicology information related to the ChEMBL database, and prior to that, performed computational modelling of chemistry, materials and groundwater for radioactive waste disposal within the commercial sector of the nuclear industry.I take a pragmatic and forward-looking approach to work and scientific problems and I apply strategic thinking to help shape opportunities in order to get the best outcome for all involved. I manage successful projects that are completed to time, cost and quality. In a typical commercial consultancy project life-cycle, I prepare successful bid proposals in a competitive business environment, manage teams and subcontractors to complete technical work, perform project reporting (financial, project progress and delivery), manage customer expectations, and prepare high quality scientific reports to exacting standards for external publication.
