ABOUT FINNUALA Q.

B.A. HONS Graduate in Modern Languages Translation and Interpreting with French and German. Year Abroad spent working in technical translation (Wolfsburg) and Digital Marketing (Paris).After 5 years in Berlin, gaining fluency in German and French, I studied a PGCE in Oxfordshire in Secondary Languages at the leading programme for MFL, The National Modern Languages SCITT.After specialising in Special Educational Needs as a High Learning Teaching Assistant in the Inclusion Team in Oxfordshire, I began my post-PGCE ECT programme at Admiral Lord Nelson School in Portsmouth in 2022. After this I moved to the independent sector to delve deeper into iGCSE and A Level teaching. Currently thriving at King Edward VI Southampton teaching predominantly German, working in the incredible Languages Faculty and involved in Charities.I identify as an inclusive teacher, using OneNote to create SEND-friendly lessons - suitable for all. My current focus on improving learner pronunciation and building student confidence by practising speaking as much as possible. I continuously develop with CPD to use technology effectively.NEU New and Young Professionals Officer to help expand new and young educator networks (NPYW) across the district of Southampton. Committee member for Southampton NEU for NPYW, delivering CPD and attending conferences and organising networking events.
