ABOUT FINDLAY FRASER
I have been working in the fields of structural geology and geological modelling for over 15 years and am an expert implicit modeler. I have taught practical 3D geological modelling and structural geology skills to over 400 people in 80+ classes. I have had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of commodities and geological settings, including epithermal and mesothermal systems, VMS deposits, porphyries, iron ore, coal, uranium and kimberlites across North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. I regularly provide outputs for geotechnical, resource, hydrogeological and geochemical studies, as well as active grade control, and pride myself in creating models that satisfy the needs of multiple stakeholders. Through my career I have been lucky enough to work across the full range of project lifecycles, from barely past prospecting, through early and advanced exploration, operations, and closure, in both underground and open pit settings. The development of my project management and leadership skills has been ongoing throughout my career. For a decade I ran an annual charity event as the Director of Events for a non-profit, raising which was donated to a variety of organizations across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally. In recent years this culminated in taking on the role of Sales Director for HiveMap, a digital geology mapping solution, and delivered a large and complex project on time and on budget, while needing to build all the project management and sales systems from the ground up. I take my role as manager and mentor seriously, taking care to define the skills needed for a role, taking the time to find the right person to fill it, and putting effort into training and supporting staff at all levels. I consider mentorship key to having a successful and integrated team with strong trust and commitment to delivering technically excellent work on time, to satisfied clients. In addition to technical mentorship I put effort into helping team members, especially junior ones, build out their business, networking, and sales skills, so that they can move forward in their careers with more confidence. I pride myself on working collaboratively, and on fostering a positive and strong team environment where everyone is engaged and feels supported.
