ABOUT DANIEL FINCH
Senior full stack developer, team lead and co-founder of Harding Scott. I have over 15 years’ development experience and have worked with major institutions and innovative start-ups across sectors including finance, retail, healthcare and e-learning.Over the last few years I\'ve worked as a technical lead on a number of projects with clients including KPMG, New Ireland Assurance and the XPS Pensions Group. Building financial modelling and insurance quotation tools I\'ve been responsible for the choice of technologies used and their implementation. This includes development methodologies and test techniques.Recent Achievements:Responsible for the front end strategy for Target+B, a FinTech start-up. I designed a white label product architecture which allowed clients to extend site functionality by building their own custom plugins. Clients could also use features of the site as stand alone functionality for integration into their own platforms. This allowed Target+B to focus on core functionality and gave clients the scope to use the product for a truly customised user experience.Contributed to a React / Node.js stack building a public facing site for a health care insurer as part of a major rebrand. The front end had a focus on accessibility and was built with the Material-UI framework using React and Redux. Key to performance of the site was the cloud based GraphQL API. Built using Node.js and express this collated and managed data from multiple sources including partner organisations and 3rd party suppliers. The site brought together previously distributed services giving end users a single destination for managing different aspects of their health.Worked as a full stack developer on a pension scheme modelling tool which won Actuarial Software of the Year 2019. The system gave users the means to adjust numerous variables on their schemes and ran actuarial calculations in real time to display predictive models. The system vastly shortened the projection modelling process for clients and gave the pensions consultant, a valuable tool for increasing client engagement.
