   As a First Command advisor I aid in the mission of coaching those who serve in their pursuit of financial security. As a military spouse, I relocated and served as a First Command financial advisor since 2015 in 3 different locations: Denver, CO; in the greater Pacific region; and Colorado Springs, COBEGINNING/MAINTAINING FINANCIAL PLAN- Work with clients within the US military, US government employees, and civilians- Utilize a broad range of skills to work with clients from the beginning of their careers to the end of retirement- Design and implement financial plans across three cornerstones – investments, insurance, and savings- Identify risk shortfalls within the financial plan. Recommends across term, universal, and whole life insurance products as necessary. Utilizes long term care insurance options to help plan for later in life- Develop debt reduction strategies to reduce interest rates and maximize savings.RETIREMENT- Integrate tax, investment, social security, and pension strategies to develop a retirement income plan in an effort to help retain purchasing power for clients approaching or within the retirement stage- Incorporates the tax diversification triangle to minimize taxes, to minimize Medicare Part B premiums and to maximize purchasing power in retirement.MILITARY SPECIFIC- Utilize my experience in military benefits and how to maximize them while on active duty and after separation or retirement. Some of those benefits include SBP, BRS, TSP, GI Bill, etc- Incorporate my personal experience as a 7-year military spouse as well as First Command’s 60+ years working with military to integrate specific aspects of the military lifestyle within the financial plan. Examples include PCSing, overseas deployments, dual military, etc- Strategize with USAFA cadets who have already decided to take their cadet career starter loan how to maximize these funds according to their goals.
