About Erik C. Andersen

Having worked with many talented directors such as Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, Jan De Bont, Nick Cannon, and James Mangold, Andersen learned the craft of editing by working with the masters. He found early success when he won his first Emmy for cutting A Community of Caring – Joe for the American Heart Association. That success has followed him throughout his editing career as the projects he has edited have won over 100 prestigious awards for their directors. As technology was transitioning away from film, Andersen helped to bring the professional non-linear editing system, ‘Lightworks,’ to the forefront of the industry. He helped establish post-production workflows for other computer-based editing systems that have completely revolutionized the way editors cut today. He shared his expertise in the profession by co‑authoring the book Transitions – Voices on the Craft of Digital Editing.Andersen is best known for his work on Wrestling Jerusalem, School Dance, Hotel California, Bring It On and Desperado and TV shows such as The Rook, Teen Wolf and Z-Nation.His talents extend not only to editing, but also to directing. He has created a huge following with his internet shorts Star Wars Made Me This Way, Stop Blink Look, Behind the Scenes of the Family Guy, Battlestar Galactica – Live in Concert, and Lighten Up, a TV pilot for Nancy Fox, founder of Mrs. Beasley\'s Gift Baskets.Andersen serves on the Board of Directors for the Motion Picture Editors Guild and as a judge for the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.Specialties: FILM, AVID, FINAL CUT PRO, LIGHTWORKS, PHOTOSHOP
