ABOUT ANGELOS TSAOUSIS
An adventurous soul with a genuine passion for visualising powerful stories, Angelos has extensive experience in the international documentary film industry. A producer, director and documentary filmmaker with a great passion for the outdoors, Angelos has been working on both commissioned and personal projects since 2006. In 2007 he founded Filmografik_DocRepublic, an independent film production company specialising in documentary and immersive media. In October 2022 he joined the European Southern Observatory as a documentary filmmaker, directing, filming and editing astronomy and science content to maximise the social impact of the organisation\'s audiences. Through his films, Angelos aims to raise awareness and encourage dialogue on important social and environmental issues. His debut feature documentary The New Plastic Road, filmed in the remote mountainous region of Pamirs, Tajikistan, acquired by international sales agent SYNDICADO FS, was nominated for an award at CLOSE UP: Edinburgh DOCUFEST 2020 and screened at HOTDOCS 2021, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival 2020, Sevastopol International Documentary Festival in Crimea and others. He is a FULBRIGHT and San Francisco Film Society Fellow, and has participated in numerous workshops - UNIONDOCS (New York) & EURODOC (Europe) and residencies - Santa Fe Art Institute. A visionary storyteller whose view of powerful stories is both intimate and inspiring. Far.Go.Bots is his second feature documentary, a co-production with ERT (Greek Public Broadcaster) and the Greek Film Centre, that premiered as an official selection at the main program of Thessaloniki Documentary Festival 2022.
