ABOUT FILIPY BORGHI
I am a PhD-trained molecular biologist and physiologist working at the interface of stress biology, endocrine regulation, and mental health vulnerability. My research focuses on how chronic psychosocial stress becomes biologically embedded through peripheral endocrine systems, shaping long-term vulnerability and resilience to mental health outcomes.I am currently a Research Associate at King’s College London, where I conduct mechanistic research on stress-responsive endocrine pathways in cardiometabolic and renal physiology, including work on Nogo-B–mediated regulation of aldosterone-sensitive signalling and blood pressure control. In parallel, I am a Visiting Researcher at the Laboratory of Stress Study (Unicamp, Brazil), where I lead and collaborate on longitudinal human studies examining occupational stress, cortisol regulation, resilience and mental health trajectories. These projects integrate peripheral biomarker profiling with validated psychological measures in real-world settings. My work integrates endocrine physiology, metabolic regulation and human biomarker research, combining experimental models with longitudinal cohort designs. I am particularly interested in cortisol dynamics (diurnal regulation, awakening response and cumulative exposure) as biological signals linking sustained stress to downstream mental health risk.
