ABOUT FILIPPO VILLANI

Senior analyst at the Economic Research Department of Confindustria Varese, my activities deal with various economic, social and public policy topics at a local, national and international level. All the analyzes aim to guide and support the member companies, through quarterly surveys on the local economic situation, annual analyzes on investments and the macroeconomic trend at a national level, researches on the labor market and wages. Furthermore, my role also includes the management of projects dealing with the clusterization of local economy. I hold a MSc in Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations at Bocconi University: my main interests include macroeconomic and geopolitical dynamics, territorial socio-economic phenomena and the analysis of public policies. Throughout my life I have always tried to integrate these interests with other experiences and paths, which have given me \"soft skills\" that are still very useful. My first working experiences were as a freelance journalist for blogs dealing with modern and contemporary art, as well as politics, which allowed me to develop my writing skills in different topics. Afterwards, I worked as an intern at the Culture Department of the Municipality of Milan, strengthening my analytical and negotiation skills: I carried out various activities, such as the analysis of visitor data of the Civic Museums and the strategic-administrative support in the planning and definition of partnership projects with private actors rooted in the area in cultural tourism. The \"soft skills\", together with the \"hard skills\" of an economic-statistical nature therefore allow me to fully appreciate, in the current working context, the continuous contact between public decision-makers and private companies, capable of promoting a \"culture\"(in a broad sense) of sustainable development on a social and environmental level, suitable for the new standards required by the contemporary world. I strongly value social impact in every choice and the willingness to learn more skills: tidy and accurate, I am really strong-willed in my choices and tend to be proactive with teamwork, with great empathy and constructive approach. Furthermore, critical thinking leads me in every decision, along with a relevant openness towards cultural diversity and differences of opinions.
