ABOUT FILIPPO SANTI

With over 25 years of experience as a patent attorney, I manage the teams of patent attorneys specialized in the fields of mechanics, chemistry, and biotechnology at Barzanò & Zanardo, one of the leading IP firms in Italy and Europe. I advise Italian and international clients on all aspects of IP, from filing and prosecuting national, European, and international patents and designs, to conducting patent and design searches, to assisting in legal disputes. As a substitute member of the Council and the secretary of the Harmonisation Committee of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), I contribute to the development and harmonization of patent law and practice across Europe and beyond. I also share my knowledge and expertise as a speaker at the European Patent Academy of the EPO and a tutor at the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI), where I teach IP trainees and professionals about the Italian IP law, the European Patent Convention, and the Patent Cooperation Treaty. I am passionate about advancing the IP profession and promoting innovation and creativity.
