ABOUT FILIPPO MARIA BONI

Once something is a passion, the motivation is there” Michael SchumacherHi! I am Filippo Maria and, I am passionately curious about everything concerning racing cars.I grew up in Italy in the Motor Valley area. Since I was a kid, I was surrounded by the noise and the rumble of racing cars, I could smell Motorsport in the air. When I was 16, I plunged into the racing world. I started racing with motocross, since then I thought and dreamt performance parts for my bike. This was the time when I realised what performance means: hours dedicated to fine-tuning the vehicle. This passion pushed me to start BSc Mechanical Engineering. These studies exposed me to the methodology and science behind the engineering explaining what I had already intuitively known. Extra to my course I participated in the Formula SAE competition. This was an incredible opportunity that taught important skills such as respect, working under pressure within tight deadlines and most importantly, teamwork. Here my passion exponentially intensified.My love for racings led me to Britain, as a postgraduate student at Coventry University. Here I soak in a remarkable racing heritage which always fascinated me. During these studies, there were more resources available to me than I ever could have imagined. I studied different ways of solving problems with pretty much the same fascination that drove me as a kid. I realised truly how much there was yet to learn. My final project was about an impact attenuator of a Formula SAE racing car.I started my working life as a Supplier Quality Assurance in the automotive at Bosch VHIT. Here I could apply what I have learnt to the real-life problem in an amazing environment. I got the chance to understand how much the quality is essential and how many people are indispensable to achieve it.
