ABOUT FILIPPO VENTURI
I\'m a postdoctoral researcher in criminal law with a passion for exploring the intricacies of legal theory, human rights and the political dimensions of criminal law. My research journey has honed my skills in legal research, writing and presentation, both in Italian and English. My ambition is to engage in cutting-edge international research that offers a critical perspective on the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary criminal law, with a focus on the relationship between the fundamental freedoms of individuals and state power.I have been a visiting researcher at the University of Toronto and at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law of Freiburg. Starting in September 2024, I will be a visiting research fellow at Columbia Law School. To support my research there, I have been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship and have been appointed as a Fulbright Research Scholar for the year 20••••25.As of September 2022, I am qualified to practise as an attorney.
