ABOUT FILIPPO MARCUZZI

I am an experienced chemical engineer used to work in international and multicultural environments. In my career I covered many different roles having the possibility to gather a 360 deg experience, horizontally, working in different departments and vertically, working from strictly operative roles up to managerial roles. Starting in Process Development in Italy I gathered the experience in small project management, the knowledge of the classic chemical engineering unit operations and equipments and the habit to look always for optimization. In my role of department supervisor I tried myself in people management in a challenging environment because of 24/7 operations. I started to deal with day by day operation management like production programming and maintenance management and I went deep in experience about safety topics. My role of plant manager was the role where I growth more. I was site manager for more than 5 years in a small plant, 35 people and 43 millions turnover, but with with some degrees of complexity because of the elevated number of products and raw materials and because the variety of international suppliers and customers. In this role I had the direct responsibility for the site safety (I was legally responsible for EHS), operations ( budgeting, production planning etc), purchasing (procurement, new suppliers research, supply chain, negotiation with suppliers), process development-engineering-capex management (base and non base project management, standards implementation, etc etc), relations with the local authorities (Customs, environment and health authorities). In my role of Process engineer in the Netherlands I went deep in management of big projects where rigorous project management roles are applied. Presently I have the role of lecithin subject matter expert covering worldwide the lecithin production and refining.
