About Figen Selli

I have a PhD degree in textile engineering on melt spinning of biodegradable polymers thus producing sustainable textile fibres. During my PhD education, I worked as a visiting PhD scholar in Empa, St. Gallen/Switzerland for 12 months in Polymer & Processing group (November 2017-September 2018). In the last 5 years (20••••20), I have worked in two different Turkish Government-funded research project which both aimed to produce functional and environment-friendly products and to support sustainable production. In addition, I have practical production knowledge; worked as a merchandiser for 3 years in a clothing company. I am an entrepreneur, a self-starter with good organizational skills; I run my own business as a local branch of a national franchise with over 100 branches for five years which improved my leadership, team-work, networking, organizational & management skills I am a volunteer of TEMA Foundation and working for the representation of TEMA activities in public and schools; presentations on ‘Soil’ ‘Water’ ‘Biological Diversity’ ‘Climate Change’ and ‘Recycling’.
