ABOUT JOHN FIENE

I’ve worked as a full-time psychodynamic therapist in Chicagoland for 12 years. I offer psychoanalytic, person-centered therapy that fosters openness, play, and genuine insight. Through a warm, collaborative relationship, we create a developmental space where unconscious patterns can emerge and be understood. My open-ended style encourages growth, insight, and the freedom to imagine new ways of relating to self and others.Many of my clients hold advanced degrees in fields like medicine, law, or the arts. They are curious about the mind, personal development, and the unconscious. They may feel successful on paper yet inwardly struggle with loneliness, dissatisfaction, or relational patterns that no longer serve them. They seek deeper meaning, self-understanding, and emotional clarity. Their goal is to gain a more authentic connection to themselves and others. They want to grow, heal, and live with greater purpose.In addition to working in private practice, I have experience as an inpatient therapist, school social worker, educator, group facilitator, and organizational consultant.
