Member of the Generation Engineering section, where I provide technical support in: Capital & O&M projects, maintenance, reliability, outages, and plant performance for the IID generation fleet of Combined Cycle Power Plants, Hydroelectric Plants, and Peaker Plants. Assist in conducting plant performance tests and assess condition of systems and equipment to determine current performance, identify areas for potential improvement, determine maintenance requirements, recommend repairs, improvements, and replacements to maximize life and reliability. Lead contractors or vendors to develop feasibility studies, proposals and preliminary design documents for projects or programs. Lead small/medium Capital and Operation and Maintenance projects; supervise contractors; review and perform inspections to work in progress to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Utilize engineering and generation plant knowledge to analyze and assess projects to independently evaluate needs, justification and cost development. Contribute in the preparation of capital work plans for the annual budget, five- and ten-year planning horizons. Assist in preparing annual generation capital and operation and maintenance budgets. Prepare specifications for engineering services, construction, systems and equipment for request for proposals. Review proposals and make recommendations. Provide coordination between contractors and the District, and review contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Review generation and/or project plans for compliance with laws, ordinances, environmental regulations and engineering codes, standards and recommend corresponding amendments or improvements. Coordinate regular meetings with different generation production units to discuss outstanding engineering, operation and maintenance matters. Contribute to generation for additional production capacity, new technologies, repowering, and optimization projects.
