About Stephen Aichele

Steve Aichele is a highly regarded attorney in Pennsylvania whose 35-year legal career has focused primarily on real estate development, from a project’s inception, through approvals, financing, construction and management. From January 2011 through October 2013, Steve served in Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett’s administration, first as General Counsel and then as Gov. Corbett’s Chief of Staff. As General Counsel of the Commonwealth, he provided personal counsel to the Governor and ran the 500-attorney Office of General Counsel, which served the legal needs of the entire Executive Branch of Government. As Chief of Staff, Steve managed the day to day operations of the Governor’s Office and the Executive Branch. After heeding the call to public service, Steve returned to Saul Ewing in November 2013 as a partner in the Real Estate Practice. Before leaving Saul Ewing to work in the Corbett administration, Steve held several leadership roles, including serving as Managing Partner and as the Firm Chairman.Steve has represented major developers, lenders, and governmental entities in land use, zoning, development, financing, construction, and leasing. He has participated in the acquisition, development and management of numerous major real estate projects throughout Pennsylvania.
