ABOUT FERNANDO VIGIL
Fernando J VigilOwner/Principal of Industrial Solar Consulting, Inc.Fernando J. Vigil leads the ISC team with over 15 years of experience in engineering, designing, consulting, construction and management of off-grid, hybrid, micro-grid and commercial photovoltaic (PV) systems. His extensive solar experience began at one of the world’s leading photovoltaic testing laboratories at Arizona State University where his thesis “Hybrid photovoltaic-fuel cell power supply for off-grid security systems” earned him a Masters of Science in Renewable Energy. As a Lead PV Systems Engineer for Kyocera Solar, Fernando was responsible for many aspects of their off-grid solar projects including site feasibility studies, design, management, commissioning and all the way through to operations and maintenance. As a Distribution Design Consultant with Salt River Project (SRP), he also gained valuable experience designing electrical distribution layouts for many large-scale subdivisions in Phoenix, AZ. His diversity of knowledge in both off-grid and grid-connected solar systems, as well as his hands-on experience as a certified NABCEP solar installer led to the founding of Industrial Solar Consulting, Inc.(ISC) in 2010. The initial objective of ISC was to accelerate the work of offsetting fossil fuel use and reduce operating expenses of off-grid installations. ISC has since expanded to provide next-generation, cutting-edge technology in off-grid, hybrid, military and micro-grid renewable energy systems that have a significant impact on reducing our carbon footprint. As a federal contractor, ISC has consulted and designed systems that have been deployed domestically and internationally while also having a focus on commercial needs, rural electrification and emergency response.EducationFernando holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology with a minor in Security Technology and Intelligence Studies from New Mexico State University and a M.S. in Energy Systems Engineering with a concentration in Renewable Energy from Arizona State University.Project experience500+ Photovoltaic projects designed and installed (over 1.2MW Off-grid PV)14MW+ Construction Management and O&M experience18MWh+ Energy Storage installed and commissioned
