I do the management of the steering gear supply projects in South America, France and Turkey. During the quotation stage, I do the design of the steering system to meet the client’s technical specs, and according to Classification Society rules, such as BV, DNV, RINA, and ABS. I also do the pricing for the equipments and I am the primary contact person for projects. My projects range from small vessels, like yatches and fishing boats, that requires simple hydraulic systems, to military defense vessels, whose requirements include fast steering speed, backup hydraulic power unit (HPU), autopilot integration and multiple steering stations.My main achievements in this role are- Designed steering gear systems providing isometric, hydraulic and piping schematics in AutoCAD and SolidWorks- Integrated Excel to SolidWorks to parametrize the design of mechanical assemblies and reduce the time spent by engineers- Acted as Project Manager on steering gear projects that ranged from small boats and ferries to large vessels for military and commercial use- Liaised with Production, Engineering, QA and Corporate to ensure that all project deliverables were complying with Classification Society rules and customer technical specifications- Conducted the technical discussion with Bureau Veritas to clear all pending remarks on large navy projects, and guaranteeing technical acceptance to the class rules and customer satisfaction with class certificate- Established project schedules in MS Project to manage resource allocations on engineering tasks and achieve the scheduled delivery date
