About Fernando Fuentes

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Fernando currently serves in the Labor Relations Department of a New York City Hospital. Fernando also serves as an advisor to the NYS Assembly Ways and Means Committee Fernando is a former Yonkers City Council Member and Trustee of the Yonkers Board of Education. Fernando also served for twenty years as the Executive Director and Chairman of the Spanish Community Progress Foundation, a Yonkers, New York- Not For Profit Corporation. Fernando also served as the Director of Personnel for the City of Paterson, New Jersey. Fernando is a past board member of the NYC Archdiocese of New York- Catholic Charities, NYS Hispanic Advisory Committee, National Puerto Rican Coalition, Yonkers General Hospital, and Spain-USA Chamber of Commerce. Fernando served as a consultant to: Felician University in Rutherford, New Jersey, The Municipal Government of Yonkers, St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY and Hilton Hotels. Fernando is a founding member of the Yonkers Latino Political Action Club Fernando is a graduate of Marist College, University of Seville, Spain and attended two years at Seton Hall Law Center in Newark, New Jersey. Fernando is married to Isabel Flores Fuentes, an architect and we have three daughters, who serve in professional capacitiesThe National Urban Coalition and the White House honored Fernando Fuentes with the \"National Distinguished Community Service Award.\" Fernando Fuentes received the award at a White House Ceremony hosted by the Chairman of the National Urban Coalition and the President of the United States.
