ABOUT DAVID FERNANDES

With over 20 years of experience in industrial IT, I’ve had the privilege to navigate diverse branches of this dynamic sector. I began my career in production line automation, moved into special-purpose machinery, and ultimately grew into project management for production monitoring. Over time, I have focused on implementing solutions that bring meaning to industrial intelligence and Industry 4.0. Throughout my journey, I’ve had the honor of collaborating with industry leaders in aggregates, steelmaking, utilities for nuclear, defense, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. More recently, I’ve shared my expertise through university lectures in France and Saudi Arabia, contributing to the next generation of industrial professionals. Today, as President of Meta 2i, I am leading a passionate team in our pursuit of operational excellence. This role is both a responsibility and a journey—one that has taught me humility, adaptability, and the art of building systems that empower people. Managing a company of our size comes with unique challenges. Resources are limited, and the demand to excel is high. Yet, these constraints have shaped my leadership style- Writing everything down to improve processes and empower delegation- Focusing on value creation rather than volume- Mastering every task before delegating it- Constantly evolving my mindset to trust my team and build scalable systems. At Meta 2i, our success is built on teamwork and resilience. When we win, it’s because of the team. When we fall short, it’s on me as the leader. That’s the reality of entrepreneurship—a school of humility and endless learning. With Meta 2i’s journey already spanning more than three decades, I am committed to steering this company toward new heights, inspiring innovation, and contributing to the future of Industry 4.0 on a global scale.
