About Fernanda Raidan

I am a scientist passionate about performing research in the areas of quantitative genetics and statistical analysis. Both areas of expertise are reflected in my current work; and exemplified by published papers and articles in proceedings.During my PhD research (20••••16) I started building my research portfolio expanding my scientific interests, but at the same time keeping the focus on genetics by environment by management (G×E×M) interactions (nutrition systems, particularly), using cattle or fish as a model. I have also developed teaching and mentoring skills working as a temporary lecture within the Agricultural Science Institute at Federal University of Minas Gerais (20••••15). I developed further skills on genomics, molecular and systems biology during a postdoctoral research position at the University of Queensland (20••••17) and CSIRO Agriculture & Food (20••••18). I worked as a quantitative research scientist at CSIRO Aquaculture Applied Breeding team (20••••23), delivering accurate breeding value estimation models to accelerate progress in traits of economic importance in prawns and abalone commercial breeding programs. I joined Hendrix Genetics (Hypor) in 2023 and the work focuses is research and development (R&D), genetic service and technical service for swine breeding programs.
