ABOUT FENULAH HEPZI

I’m a graduate in English Literature from Women’s Christian College, Chennai, with a deep interest in how power moves through language, culture, and storytelling. My research spans postcolonial literature, translation studies, biblical interpretation, cultural theory, and most passionately literary theory. I’m especially drawn to the frameworks that help us question what texts do, whom they serve, and how they shape the world around us.I enjoy working across genres and disciplines, drawing connections between literature, identity, and social structures. Whether it’s analyzing parenting as a form of cultural conditioning in narratives from collectivsit societies, questioning educational practices, or exploring gender and voice in translation, I’m interested in how stories reflect and reinforce systems of power.Alongside my academic work, I’ve been a class representative, helped organize cultural events, contributed to the Centre for Environmental Studies and the Institution Innovation Council, and volunteered at the Chennai International Book Fair.Always up for conversations that challenge the norm or sit at the intersections of text, context, and critique.
