ABOUT PASCAL FENKAM

For the past 14 years, I have not only worked on developing some very exciting software systems, but also on leading and providing strategic direction to some very dynamic teams. Throughout my professional career I have earned a PhD in Software Engineering & Distributed Systems, managed teams, and compiled projects with budget of up to safe to say that computing is my passion. I have 25 peer-reviewed publications in top international conferences to my name, as well as a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering. My other passion is leadership – I love to recognize and foster unique talents in those I lead, and to this end I have started studying towards a Master of Science in Leadership. I strongly believe in strengths based leadership.Having worked as a Founder, Team Leader, Architect, Development Manager and Lead Architect, my next challenge is to transition into a greater role that would allow me to focus more on building strong teams, empowering them, and contributing both practically and strategically to technical challenges. By leveraging nearly a decade and a half of development, architecture, leadership and management, I am well placed not only to provide excellent supervision, oversight and budget management, but also practical advice and a very qualified perspective.Computing is what I love, what I do, and what I’m good at – in this way, I am grateful to have worked on some very stimulating and fairly complex projects with the likes of Verizon, Redbox Instant, Cisco, Nokia, Technicolor and Paramount. The leadership experience I have gained to date, not to mention the skill set & technical knowledge has been incredibly helpful.
