About Felix D.
Felix Davila currently serves as the Outreach Librarian for Chesterfield Public Library in Central Virginia. He has experience as the Manager for Young Adult Services for the Enoch Pratt Free Library and has served in various Young Adult/Teen Services roles in the past. He is a graduate of San Jose State University\'s iSchool program, earning his Master\'s degree in Library and Information Sciences. A 2013 graduate of Claflin University, Felix completed his Bachelor\'s of Arts in English, finishing with Honors, Summa Cum Laude.He initially worked as a Co-Host for WSSB 90.3 FM during his senior year at Claflin, hosting a college football talk show, which paved the way toward positions as an online sportswriter for BigBlueUnited.com and FanSided\'s GmenHQ.com after graduation. This experience culminated in other roles working for Pro Football Network, Around the Block, and With the First Pick. These opportunities provided Felix a chance to enhance his writing and social media skills, along with the ability to supervise by leading teams of writers. Felix\'s passion for writing blossomed during his first job out of undergrad, with Chesterfield Libraries, and he felt inspired to pursue librarianship full-time to engage the community more so than his previous part-time positions allowed.Felix has contributed to critical initiatives within the community and workplace. He served CCPL\'s Foreign Language Committee and the Awards & Recognition Committee to develop a formal method of recognizing library staff. Felix also founded and led CCPL\'s Young Adult Writer\'s Workshop for about three years. For HCPL, he served on the Teen Services Committee and served in the Multicultural and Social Media Committees. Felix has served in positions with Richmond Public Libraries, Henrico County Public Libraries, Harford County (MD) Public Libraries, along with Enoch Pratt and continues to with his return to Chesterfield. Felix strives to blend his library, writing and technology experiences to expand his ability as an information professional. He aims to contribute to dynamic work environments that allow him to excel, expand on and use his skills, while being an asset to a team. He also hopes to continue being an advocate for libraries, while simultaneously working to address needs in the community.

Felix currently serves as a Librarian Children\'s Services Supervisor for Prince George\'s County Memorial Library system, located just outside of Washington, DC. He is responsible for leading the Children\'s department\'s efforts in programming, daily services, staff development, and contributes to the adult information team. Felix is also responsible for handling the coordination of outreach efforts for his branch and managing branch operations in absence of the branch manager.
