Teamwork-oriented, biophysically trained biochemist (RNA, proteins, lipids) with interest in interdisciplinary work and entertaining as well as audience-tailored communication.I am currently honing my skills in Regulatory Affairs for a change toward the pharmaceutical & medical devices industry.In my work I was able to - disprove the ~20 year old paradigm that pseudouridine synthases are covalently inhibited by 5-fluorouridine - paradigm was build on an artifact- establish microscale thermophoresis binding assays of RNA with - various proteins - RNA, DNA - small molecules- successfully construct and characterize novel allosteric RNA aptamers by - fluorescence spectroscopy - isothermal titration calorimety- investigate lipid membrane mechanics on nanoporous alumina by AFMMoreover I am very experienced in scientific communication by- 6 years experience in giving scientific presentations to a an interdisciplinary team possessing diverse levels of insight into the topic - performing at science slams in front of several hundred lay persons - being editor in the editorial board of the Journal of Unsolved Questions
