Provides strategic counsel on key policy initiatives, intergovernmental relations, and philanthropy securing over $320 million to support city projects and services.* Oversees a diverse portfolio of teams, including communications, workforce development, neighborhood services, business diversity, immigrant and refugee affairs, and areas of DEIA, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.* Spearheads the modernization of the city’s procurement process to align with city code, implement best practices, and prioritize economic inclusion, resulting in a 10% increase in DBE participation and assembling the largest consortium of public partners for the first regional disparity study in over 20 years.* Leads groundbreaking initiatives, such as the Workforce Hub, which yielded the city’s inaugural multi-agency workforce equity agreement to integrate diverse workforce participation and job quality requirements in publicly funded construction projects.* Serves as the Executive Sponsor for the Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities partnership, guiding our i-team and city staff in crafting strategies and policy recommendations aimed at reducing energy burden, promoting clean energy workforce development, and enhancing climate resilience, re: landslide mitigation.* Collaborated on the region’s 10-year destination master plan, securing critical tourism strategies for Black, LGBTQIA+, and emerging communities.* Championed the creation of the first diverse investment managers policy and a subsequent increase in MWDBE utilization for the City’s $1 billion Comprehensive Municipal Pension Trust Fund.* Manages appointments for city boards and commissions, quadrupling representation of younger appointees, doubling representation of people of color, and increasing representation of women.* Successfully manages a $4 million annual budget, consistently achieving positive operating results, as well as systems development ensuring operational excellence.
