ABOUT FELICIANO S.
I am a principal investigator and assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, focusing on cancer immunotherapy. Raised in a scientific family in Kyiv, Ukraine, I found science to be my refuge from loneliness. Immigrating to the United States at 17, I overcame language and cultural barriers, with science as my universal language.My journey took me from the lab at Brooklyn Technical High School to gene-editing research at Columbia University and doctoral studies at Rockefeller University. Today, at Cornell, my research centers on uncovering how cancer cells evade the immune system to develop next-generation immunotherapies. I’ve led CAR-T therapy clinical trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and now run an innovative lab at Cornell, striving to connect the lab bench with patient care.I believe science is not just about discovery but about using knowledge to heal. Proud of my Ukrainian roots and the opportunities the U.S. has given me, I am committed to mentoring diverse, aspiring scientists and pushing the boundaries of cancer treatment
