As a Substance Use Clinical professional, my skill set greatly increased working in the detention center. Being able to transition between both gender programs effectively was my strength. Facilitation of science-based programming added to my didactic skill set. Completing the task with documentation in a timely manner and assisting the resident with case management for transition to other services benefitted the resident by aidding in timely discharge planning.
