ABOUT FELICE GRAGNANO
Dr. Gragnano is Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the University of Campania L. Vanvitelli and Consultant Cardiologist at the AORN S. Anna and S. Sebastiano, Caserta, Italy. He completed his medical degree (MD), specialization in Cardiology, and PhD in Translational Medical Sciences (all with summa cum laude) at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. From 2018 to 2020, he has done a Research Fellowship in Cardiology at the Inselspital, Universitätsspital Bern, Bern, Switzerland. Dr. Gragnano is Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and the Italian Society of Cardiology (FISC). He is a Nucleus Member of the Working Group of Interventional Cardiology and of the Working Group of Thrombosis of the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC), and the Working Group of Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATBV). He served as Study Committee Member in international clinical trials, including GLOBAL LEADERS, PANTHER, SIDNEY-2, SIDNEY-3, SIDNEY-4, TAPER-S, and TRANSFORM II. He has authored >160 publications, also in high-impact journals (The Lancet, BMJ, Circulation, JACC, European Heart Journal, JAMA Cardiology). He is Associate Editor of the European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, Social Media Editor of the European Society of Cardiolgy (ESC) Journals, and editorial board member of several cardiology journals.Dr. Gragnano has an intense clinical research activity involving a broad spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, with a focus on patients with acute and chronic coronary syndromes undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). He has a particular interest in antithrombotic pharmacotherapies and treatment strategies to reduce ischemic and bleeding risk. Other areas of research are devoted to the optimization of therapeutic strategies in heart failure (HF), type 2 diabetes (T2DM), inflammation, and dyslipidemia in the context of primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention.
